How long it takes to achieve a black belt ?

No matter what discipline we are talking about, students should be promoted to the next level when they are ready and prepared.

Levels are nice because they provide a measure of progress and usually people like to be able to see how far they´ve achieved…here comes in the dilema of the belts and the colors….

The problem comes when the focus of a student shifts from really learning to gaining another level. This change in mentality can affect your concentration and instead of learning your emphasis will be simply on getting the next level, which is the next belt.

One should not rush simply becuase a friend did. People do learn at different speeds so we don´t need to worry about the next level as much as to learn learn and learn…
